The 6th Edition of The 15 kilometers road race ‘Run for Sickle Cell’ held at Nyangoma Secondary School. Kogelo Siaya County on 20th October 2018 in Siaya County was a successful event aimed at raising funds for community based programs to supplement efforts in provision of medical support for sickle cell patients.
The event is creating a niche among runners because of its community offerings and the fact that it serves as a fundraiser to help curb the dangers of Sickle Cell
The Run For Sickle Cell has had a positive impact on the community since its inauguration by H.E. The First lady of Kenya, Margaret Kenyatta. The initiatives efforts to promote a lifestyle of physical activity and national cohesion are notable and goes beyond providing an opportunity or people to run in a race or drawing visitors. The impact is the benefit to residents in their daily lives
