Mama Sarah’s visit to Toronto

Dr. Mama Sarah Obama has been at the forefront of championing the plight of the orphans, the girl child and widows in Africa and has won various international awards including UN Women Education Award on November 2014 at New York, USA. She also got Doctor of Letters Degree Award for her work in aid of poor communities in Kenya. Her visit to Canada was an invitation of GoodLife Fitness Toronto Marathon and Harun Otwoma Foundation.

On her visit she graced the following occasions:

• The GoodLife Fitness Toronto Marathon
• Dinner Hosted by Friends of Mama Sarah Obama at University of Toronto
• Knights Table of Peel Region event in honour of Mama Sarah Obama
• Dinner Hosted by Ontario Business Community
• Luncheon Hosted by Rotary Club of Mississauga Airport

Some of the programs that Mama Sarah Obama has been implementing through her NGO Safeguard Orphans and Widows Organization (SOWO) include: Education & Literacy,Youth & Women Empowerment, Food Security & WASH, Environment & Sustainable Energy, Culture & Sports, Healthcare and International Volunteers & Work Camps
